Kakha Kaladze elected as Tbilisi Mayor for 2nd time

Kakha Kaladze has been elected mayor of Tbilisi for the next four years, receiving 55.6% of the vote, Report informs.
Kaladze’s victory was announced after the Central Election Commission of Georgia counted votes at 768 (99.87%) out of 769 polling stations in the Georgian capital.
His opponent, the opposition candidate from the United National Movement, Nika Melia, received 44.4% of the vote.
Kakha Kaladze was first elected mayor of Tbilisi in November 2017. He began his political career in 2012 with the then opposition Georgian Dream party. He is currently one of the foremost leaders of the party. The 43-year-old former footballer served as energy minister from October 2012 before being elected mayor of Tbilisi.
