Kobakhidze: Efforts on Middle Corridor must be intensified and additional cargo attracted

Efforts related to the Middle Corridor should be intensified and additional cargo should be attracted to the route, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said during a joint briefing with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

According to Report, Kobakhidze said that the two sides held detailed discussions on opportunities to expand trade and economic cooperation.

He noted that, by mutual agreement, an intergovernmental commission on economic issues has been established, which will serve as a platform for developing cooperation in various fields.

The prime minister also stated that prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics were discussed during the meeting. Particular attention was paid to the strategic importance of the Middle Corridor.

"We emphasized the importance of intensifying work in this direction and attracting additional cargo," Kobakhidze stressed.
