Erdogan: Everything was done to protect democracy

Everything was done to protect democracy, said President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Report informs.

According to him, whatever came over the politicians who served the country before, the current government is now facing much more of them: "With the court decision, they wanted to block us and intimidate us. They targeted us through our friends, tried to scare us by burning our streets. On July 15, they killed us using the FETO organization. All the terrorist organizations from ISIS to PKK were unleashed on us. The goal of all of them was to forcefully take back the authority given by the people at the ballot box."

Erdogan said that many of his fellows were victims of treacherous attacks by terrorist organizations: "They threw Molotov cocktails at our polling stations and attacked our brothers. Despite the dozens of provocations, we did not give up the path of law and democracy. We did not damage the dignity and honor of the ballot boxes. Whatever we were going to say, we said through the boxes. Unlike some others, we did not rely on Western powers' whispers, but on Anatolian wisdom. Today we rely on the foresight of 85 million. We sincerely believe that Anatolian wisdom will win on May 14."
