Deficit in Russia-Turkey trade left behind, Putin says

Russia and Turkey have not only compensated for trade losses caused by the pandemic, but even increased the trade turnover, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Report informs via TASS.

Putin noted that the contacts between the two countries continued during the difficult periods of the pandemic: “It is good to say that the relations are developing in a positive direction.”

Putin said that in 2020 there was a 20% deficit in trade between the two countries. According to him, the trade turnover increased by 55% in the first 8.5 months of the year.
