Daily COVID mortality nears 550 in Russia

Over the past day, medical experts recorded 16,715 new cases of coronavirus infection in Russia, Report informs referring to Russian media.

The total number of registered cases in the country since the pandemic onset has reached 5,350,919.

Currently, 331,122 Russians are undergoing treatment to beat the viral disease.

To date, a total of 130,347 people died due to COVID-related health complications in Russia, including 546 deaths seen over the past day. The number of recoveries is 4,889,450.

More than 179.5 million people globally have contracted the virus since the onset of the pandemic. The deadly pathogen has claimed over 3.88 million lives, though unable to cope with 164.2 million patients, who managed to recover.
