Armenia's coronavirus death toll surpasses 3,000

Armenia confirmed 236 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the nationwide tally to 164,912, Report informs, citing the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health.
The death toll has reached 3,007 as nine more succumbed to the deadly pathogen. As many as 153,500 people have recovered from the infection so far.
There are currently 7,671 active coronavirus patients in the country.
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province and has spread to more than 200 countries and territories since then.
On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
