Azerbaijani PM attends CIS Heads of Government meeting in Minsk

The latest meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of CIS was held in Minsk, the capital of Belarus, the Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers told Report.

Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Ali Asadov participated in the meeting.

Speaking at a limited format meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of multi-level cooperation within the CIS framework.

He highlighted the significance of humanitarian ties, particularly collaboration in the healthcare sector.

Asadov noted that the meeting included approval of an Action Plan for the upcoming "Year of Health Protection" in 2026: "In this context, enhancing the qualifications of medical personnel and introducing innovative technologies into the healthcare system are among the key priorities."

He also underscored the role of sports in building a healthy and resilient society.

Touching on Azerbaijan's economic and trade relations with CIS member states, Asadov stated that mutual trade volume increased by more than 21% in the first eight months of 2025. He stressed the critical role of modern transport and logistics infrastructure in strengthening international trade ties.

Asadov added that, in light of new regional realities, active work has begun on the Zangazur Corridor, which will connect Azerbaijan's mainland with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

In conclusion, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining constructive and respectful dialogue with all CIS member states.

Following the session, the heads of government continued discussions in an expanded format and signed several concluding documents.
