Ersin Tatar: TRNC closely follows Azerbaijan"s support for regional peace

Northern Cyprus is closely following Azerbaijan"s support for peace in the region, Ersin Tatar, President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), told Report.

"We are pleased to witness the peace achieved between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also strongly supported this peace process. I"ve said it before and I"ll say it again: we see ourselves as ‘one nation, three states." Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and the TRNC are deeply connected across the Caucasus, Anatolia, and the Eastern Mediterranean triangle. Our shared national values, spirituality, and history unite us as children of the same nation," Tatar said.

He expressed confidence that the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, along with developments following the Karabakh Victory, will positively impact Azerbaijan"s growth.

The TRNC leader also announced plans to visit Azerbaijan next month: "The Azerbaijani government has provided great support for resolving issues in our region. I"ve visited Azerbaijan several times over the past two years, and each time President Ilham Aliyev has welcomed me warmly. On October 6–7, I will return to Azerbaijan to attend the summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) at President Aliyev"s invitation."
