Ukraine strikes Lukoil refinery in Russia

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) announced a strike on the Lukoil‑Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez (Kstovo) refinery in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, one of the main suppliers of fuel for the Russian army, Report informs, citing the General Staff's Telegram post.
It was noted that the attack took place overnight on July 2, causing a fire at the facility. Preliminary information indicates that the AVT‑6 primary oil processing unit was hit, with the extent of damage still being assessed.
The refinery is among Russia's largest, with a design capacity of about 17 million tons of oil per year. It produces gasoline, diesel, aviation fuel, lubricants, and other products used to meet military needs.
Additionally, Ukraine reported strikes on a Russian drone storage site in the Kamianka area of Zaporizhzhia Oblast and on a railway bridge over the Siverskyi Donets River near Stanytsia Luhanska.
