Trump accuses Iran of repeated ceasefire violations

US President Donald Trump has accused Iran of repeatedly violating the two-week ceasefire that is set to expire on April 22, Report informs.

"Iran has Violated the Cease Fire numerous times!" Trump wrote on Truth Social.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran, striking several cities. The campaign led to escalation in the Middle East, drawing all Gulf countries into the conflict and resulting in the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran, the US, and their allies agreed overnight on April 8 to a ceasefire lasting until April 21–22.

Attempts were made to hold talks in Pakistan to resolve the conflict, but the first round on April 11–12 ended without results. A new round of negotiations may take place in the coming days.

The situation around the Strait of Hormuz, whose blockade triggered a global energy crisis, remains uncertain. Both sides intermittently announce its reopening, but in practice shipping in the region has come to a halt.
