Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Staff Asim Munir are expected to visit Switzerland to take part in discussions related to US-Iran talks.
According to Samaa TV, cited by Report, the prime minister's trip will depend on whether US Vice President JD Vance travels to Switzerland.
Earlier reports indicated that Sharif's planned visit to Switzerland had been canceled.
Meanwhile, a new round of technical talks between the United States and Iran is scheduled for June 21 in Bürgenstock. The discussions are expected to focus on progress made since the signing of the memorandum of understanding and to assess its implementation.
According to Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, the talks will be held at the delegation level and will evaluate the current status of commitments undertaken by the United States and Iran.
Pakistan is expected to be represented by several senior officials.
The Iranian delegation will include Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, Deputy Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council for International Affairs Ali Bagheri, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, National Iranian Oil Company head Hamid Bord, Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, and other officials.
According to the report, a key issue for the Iranian side will be Israeli strikes on Lebanon, which Tehran argues are inconsistent with the terms of the memorandum.
