Poland is ready to respond to a possible Russian attack, Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Łukasz Jasina said, Report informs via UNIAN.
According to Jasina, both Poland and NATO are ready to respond in case Russia attacks the Alliance member states:
"We are always ready for that. Not only we, but also our allies are prepared for this. Article 5 of the Washington Treaty states that an attack on any NATO member state is an attack on the Alliance as a whole. Any aggressive step by Vladimir Putin against Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia - and even Finland if it becomes a member - is a red line for NATO as a whole."
He added that he did not want the Russian president to commit a new "act of aggression."
Russian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Kalabukhov threatened NATO on March 20, saying "How do you know we don't have a plan against Poland, Croatia and Bulgaria?"
