NATO countries are moving forces closer to the Strait of Hormuz and could join efforts to protect shipping if necessary.
Report informs that Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chair of NATO's Military Committee, said this at the Shangri-La Dialogue international security forum.
According to him, the Alliance itself is not directly involved in addressing the situation around the strait.
"NATO is not playing a direct role at the moment, but individual member states are already acting. They are moving forces closer to the area," he said.
