Death toll in US flash floods climbs to 5

The flash floods caused by tropical storm Fred in North Carolina claimed at least five lives, according to local authorities, Report informs, citing RIA Novosti.
Haywood sheriff's office said today's rescue works were aimed at searching for the last unidentified victim of the storm, while five deaths have already been confirmed.
Local authorities estimate the damage from the floods to be at least $300 million. The natural disaster destroyed 225 buildings in the Crusoe community.
