Congo’s opposition candidate dies a day after elections

Guy-Brice Parfait Kolelas, a candidate in the presidential election in the Republic of Congo, died yesterday, said the director of his election campaign.
Report informs, citing foreign media, that the cause of death of the politician was COVID-19. He was hospitalized on the eve of the election.
Congo held presidential elections on March 21, and seven candidates took part in the polls. The main candidate was the current president, 77-year-old Denis Sassou Nguesso. He has ruled the country since 1979.
