There must be precise mechanisms to prevent disinformation in the media, Kazakhstan's First Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Kanat Iskakov said at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, according to Report's correspondent in Shusha.
According to Iskakov, common solutions must be found within the framework of platforms such as the Shusha Forum to prevent the manipulation of public opinion:
"Because the interconnections in the information sphere show that it is impossible to fight disinformation alone. Joint efforts are needed here. We can achieve this at such strategic platforms, at the level of multilateral relations."
He said that the issue of the spread of fake information and disinformation has always existed:
"Unfortunately, it will continue to exist in the future as well. As both state and media entities, we must regularly develop various programs together with civil society and educational institutions that help citizens critically evaluate information and distinguish fakes. Our only way is to develop clear algorithms and mechanisms to be implemented."
