"During the occupation, Armenian soldiers used Aghdam's Juma Mosque as a direct observation post. That is why they did not destroy this mosque," Azad Jafarli, the head of the State Service of Cultural Heritage Conservation, Development and Rehabilitation, told journalists.
"Unfortunately, animals were kept inside the mosque. In addition, there are references to the fact that the mosque was set on fire several times. The minarets of the mosque are damaged. We are already here, and we are discussing with you the restoration and reconstruction of this monument," the head of the State Service added.
