Zhejiang province ready to establish regular communication mechanism with Azerbaijan

China's Zhejiang Province is ready to establish a regular communication mechanism with Azerbaijan's state institutions, enterprises, and chambers of commerce, according to Ke Jixin, Deputy Governor of Zhejiang, according to Report.

He made the remark at the ceremony marking the 5th anniversary of the Europe Railway Express route and welcoming the 237th Yiwu-Baku train on the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.

According to Jixin, this cooperation will cover the operation of regular trains, the creation of industrial and logistics parks, as well as mutual recognition of standards.

"Azerbaijan, as one of the main centers of the ancient Silk Road, actively participates in the Belt and Road Initiative. Azerbaijan increasingly demonstrates its advantages as a crossroads connecting Eurasia. The China-Europe Railway Express is an important achievement in the joint construction of this initiative," the deputy governor noted.

He also highlighted that over the past 10 years, Zhejiang has opened 24 regular routes to Europe, Central Asia, and other destinations, with a total of more than 14,000 trains operating. Currently, goods from this province are supplied to more than 50 countries and 160 cities across Eurasia. "We export more than 50,000 products in 26 main categories," Jixin added.

The official emphasized that Azerbaijan has become a key hub of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route and plays an important role in increasing the efficiency of China-Europe freight trains, receiving cargo, and developing markets: "Azerbaijan is an invaluable bridge for our access to the European market."

Ke Jixin added that the parties will expand cooperation not only in transport and logistics but also in the digital economy, green energy, tourism, and culture.
