Russian athletes will compete under neutral status in 2018 Winter Olympics

Baku. 12 December. REPORT.AZ/ Russian Olympic Committee has held a meeting which supported the statement of local athletes to compete under neural status in 2018 Olympic Winter Games.
Report informs referring to the TASS, a relevant decision was unanimously adopted. The final decision to compete in PyeongChang 2018 will be made by each athlete.
Earlier President of Russia Vladimir Putin said the country’s leadership will not prevent athletes to compete in Winter Olympic Games under neutral status.
Russian team was disqualified to compete in 2018 Winter Olympic Games that will take place in South Korea. Nevertheless, athletes who tested negative for doping may compete in the games under neutral flag.
