The competition authorities of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) member countries will begin working together in the areas of fintech and payment systems, Merey Mukazhan, deputy secretary general of the OTS, told Report on the sidelines of the 3rd Meeting of the Heads of the OTS Competition Authorities and the Competition Forum.
According to him, the working groups operating within the organization will expand their activities in new priority areas.
"A year ago, the working group on agricultural issues completed its work and prepared the necessary documents. We now intend to focus on research into fintech and payment systems - one of the key areas of current development. The results will be presented to the public next year in Kazakhstan," he noted.
Mukazhan also emphasized that Türkiye's experience in competition policy may be useful to other OTS member states.
He noted that many of the organization's countries gained independence relatively recently and are at different stages of competition policy development.
"Türkiye has greater experience in this area, which is of interest to Azerbaijan and the Central Asian states. These issues were discussed in detail at today's meeting. The main goal is to ensure the joint development of all participating countries," he added.
