Hasrat Jafarov tops Azerbaijan athletes' August ranking

The ranking of Azerbaijani athletes for August 2026 has been announced, Report informs, citing the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat Jafarov retained first place with 480 points.

Freestyle wrestler Giorgi Meshvildishvili ranked second with 460 points, while another freestyle wrestler, Arsenii Dzhioev, completed the top three with 420 points.

The next places were taken by Saidjamshid Jafarov in boxing with 400 points, Murad Ahmadiyev in Greco-Roman wrestling with 330 points, Ulvu Ganizade in Greco-Roman wrestling with 300 points, Nuraddin Novruzov in freestyle wrestling with 270 points, Hashim Magomedov in taekwondo with 270 points, Hidayat Heydarov in judo with 270 points and Islam Bazarganov in freestyle wrestling with 265 points.
