Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev on working visit to Morocco

A delegation led by Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan Kamran Aliyev is on a working visit to Rabat at the invitation of his Moroccan counterpart, Hicham Balaoui, Report informs, citing the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan.
The sides exchanged views on strengthening ties and cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
At a meeting held at the Moroccan Public Prosecutor's Office, Aliyev thanked his counterpart for the invitation and said Morocco is a friendly country for Azerbaijan and has regularly demonstrated solidarity with Azerbaijan on international platforms. He said ties between the two countries has deepened in recent years as a result of the far-sighted policy and efforts of President Ilham Aliyev and His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Aliyev added that the sincere relations between the heads of state also contributed to the development of cooperation between institutions.
For his part, Hicham Balaoui expressed satisfaction with the development of inter-agency partnership. Providing information about the activities of the Moroccan Public Prosecutor's Office, he said Morocco is aware of the increased efficiency of the Azerbaijani Prosecutor's Office as a result of major reforms and new institutions introduced in recent years. He said Azerbaijan's experience, particularly work to digitalize prosecution bodies and criminal proceedings, is of special interest to Morocco and that Rabat wanted to exchange experience in this area.
The meeting also focused on practical cooperation in combating various forms of crime, including transnational crime and the investigation of financial crimes, as well as extradition and mutual legal assistance in criminal cases. The sides also discussed prospects for expanding legal and institutional cooperation within bilateral and international platforms, organizing mutual training visits and exchanging experience.
The Azerbaijani delegation then familiarized itself with the activities of the Moroccan Public Prosecutor's Office. They were briefed on Morocco's experience in protecting family and children's rights, the role of the prosecutor's office in defending state interests in civil cases, anti-corruption measures, including the work of the call center.
During the meeting, the sides discussed and agreed on the future signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two institutions.
Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Morocco Nazim Samadov also attended the meeting.
The delegation's visit is ongoing, and meetings with heads of other state institutions are also planned.
