Switzerland is ready to share its experience in developing mountainous regions and creating sustainable economic models for such areas with Azerbaijan, Guy Bonvin, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Swiss Confederation in Baku, said in an interview with Report on the sidelines of WUF13 in Baku.
"Switzerland, like Azerbaijan, is a mountainous country, so we have experience to share, particularly in the area of local economic development in mountainous regions," he said.
According to Bonvin, Switzerland has already participated in discussions within the framework of the Azerbaijan Urban Campaign, where issues of urban development and the formation of economic centers around them were discussed.
"It is important that not only cities but also mountainous regions benefit from development. This is not just about infrastructure, but also about economic development as a whole," the diplomat noted.
Speaking about WUF13, Bonvin emphasized the importance of the forum as an international platform for exchanging experiences.
"The main expectation of the forum is the exchange of knowledge between cities and communities, discussion of urban resilience, adaptation to climate change, and new approaches to urban planning," he added.
