Azerbaijan, Slovakia sign interior cooperation memorandum

Azerbaijan and Slovakia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of internal affairs, Report informs.

According to Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Interior Minister Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov met with Slovak Interior Minister Matúš Šutaj Eštok and his delegation in Shusha.

The meeting focused on the current state of cooperation between the two countries' interior ministries and prospects for expanding bilateral ties.

Eyvazov briefed the Slovak delegation on the ministry's areas of activity, the crime situation in Azerbaijan, and measures taken to ensure public satisfaction with law enforcement services.

The two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening joint efforts, applying modern technologies, and enhancing operational information exchange in combating transnational organized crime, illegal drug and arms trafficking, human trafficking, illegal migration, and cybercrime.

Šutaj Eštok thanked the Azerbaijani side for its warm hospitality and expressed Slovakia's interest in further expanding cooperation.

During the meeting, the ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the field of internal affairs.

The extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of both countries also attended the meeting.
