Azerbaijan took part in an international symposium in Tunisia, presenting its experience in multiculturalism and intercivilizational dialogue, Report informs.
The country was represented by Irina Kunina, head of project management at the Baku International Center of Multiculturalism, during the panel discussion "Enhancing the Role of the UN Alliance of Civilizations in Supporting International Peace and Security."
In her speech titled "The Azerbaijani Model and the Dialogue of Civilizations," Kunina highlighted that Azerbaijan's multiculturalism framework is internationally recognized as a model for preserving cultural diversity, religious tolerance, and dialogue among civilizations.
She noted that Azerbaijan has historically fostered an environment where various ethnic and religious communities coexist peacefully and respectfully-an approach that today remains a priority of state policy.
According to Kunina, key elements of the Azerbaijani model include the protection of religious sites, restoration of national and cultural heritage, prevention of religious discrimination, and consistent state support for diverse communities.
