Azerbaijan plans to host CICA Summit in 2026

The Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is scheduled to take place in the autumn of 2026 under Azerbaijan"s chairmanship, said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as he addressed the participants of the 13th Meeting of CICA Think Tank Forum themed "Resonance of Development and Security: Regional Cooperation and Governance in the Institutional Transformation of CICA."

According to Report, the head of state noted that CICA, which brings together 28 member states and covers 90% of the Asian continent, is an institution of great importance for strengthening trust in the region and fostering inter-state cooperation. 

"Azerbaijan approaches its 2024–2026 chairmanship of CICA with a strong sense of responsibility. The work of our chairmanship is being carried out under the theme: ‘A Stronger CICA: Connectivity, Digitalization, and Sustainable Growth in Asia'," the Azerbaijani leader said.
