Azerbaijan, Algeria mull prospects for deepening co-op

Azerbaijani Finance Minister Sahil Babayev has received Algerian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zakia Ighil, Report informs referring to the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting, which was of an introductory nature, highlighted the successful development of bilateral ties between the two countries in the political, economic, energy, and other spheres, and discussed prospects for further deepening cooperation.

Babayev emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in the energy sector, supporting mutual investment initiatives, and developing trade ties. The significant potential for investment and cooperation in the non-oil sector, particularly in logistics and tourism, air transport, and reconstruction and construction projects, was noted.

Ambassador Zakia Ighil expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and emphasized that she will make every effort to further expand ties between the two countries during her tenure.

Concluding the meeting, the minister of finance wished the ambassador success in her diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.
