Ambassador: Czech Republic is an important partner of Azerbaijan

The Czech Republic is an important partner of Azerbaijan.

Report informs that the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Azerbaijan, Milan Sedlaček, said this at a reception held in Baku on the occasion of his country's Statehood Day.

Milan Sedlaček noted that it is remarkable that Azerbaijan has strong and sovereign leadership, which allows it to act in its current manner in the international arena and thus earn respect.

The diplomat then said that this might be his last reception speech as an ambassador after 35 years of diplomatic activity:

"Therefore, allow me to share my thoughts, especially about the current state of Europe and perhaps the European Union. It is not possible to win in the fight against stupidity, but this fight is worth fighting. We conduct this struggle not with a sense of moral superiority, but with a sense of responsibility so that society can distinguish truth from illusion. If we abandon this struggle, we will be deprived of the main feeling that holds us together as a civil society. We need a new ethos, not necessarily religious in nature, but one that protects human dignity and common principles."
