In 2026, the amount allocated from Azerbaijan's state budget for social purposes will exceed the total expenditures of Armenia's budget, according to MP Vugar Bayramov, Report informs.
He shares this insight during today's plenary meeting of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis at the first reading of the draft laws on the 2026 Budget of the State Social Protection Fund and on the 2026 Budget of the Unemployment Insurance Fund.
Bayramov noted that a number of circles attempt to form misleading opinions by comparing Azerbaijan's social indicators with those of neighboring countries:
"In 2026, Azerbaijan's social expenditures of $10 billion will be 4.2 times greater than Armenia's $2.4 billion social allocations, and 3.8 times greater than Georgia's $2.6 billion social expenditures. If Azerbaijan's social spending alone exceeds the entire budget of another country, then what kind of comparison can be made?"
