Liquid assets of Azerbaijan's banking sector drop by 5%

In the first half of 2024, the liquid assets of Azerbaijan’s banking sector fell by 5%, or 0.6 billion manats (approximately $353 million), bringing the total to 12.5 billion manats (just under $7.353 billion), Report informs, citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
The CBA provided a breakdown of these liquid assets: 33% are held in nostro accounts, 38% are invested in securities, 18% are in cash funds, and 11% are in correspondent accounts at the CBA.
Furthermore, 51% of the liquid assets are denominated in national currency, while 49% are in foreign currency.
