Volume of oil transported via BTC increases by nearly 7%

In January-September this year, 29,787,700 tons of oil was transported via Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines, 8.3% more than in the same period last year, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Of this, 76.1%, or 22,665,100 tons, were transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, 4.5% more than in the same period of 2022.
During the period, 18,844,800 tons (83.1%) were Azerbaijani oil, while 3,820,300 tons (16.9%) were Turkmen and Kazakh oils.
The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, the pipeline transports other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
Shareholders of BTC Co: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCU (3.4%); INPEKS (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
