STAR refinery reduces diesel production

In July 2021, the STAR refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Turkey produced 521,814 tons of diesel fuel, a drop of 67,042 tons or 11.4% from July last year.Report informs, citing the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA).
In general, refineries in Turkey produced 1,490,361 tons of diesel fuel in July, a decrease of 111,342 tons or 6.95% from July 2020.
The STAR refinery produced 588,856 tons of diesel fuel in 2020.
STAR Refinery was launched on October 19, 2018. The foundation of the plant was laid on October 5, 2011. STAR has Turkey's first Strategic Investment Promotion Document. In September 2019, the plant began operating at full capacity.
The plant has a refining capacity of 10 million tons of crude oil per year. The plant can process the Urals, Azeri Light, and Kirkuk oil. Its main products are diesel fuel (4.8 million tons), jet fuel, naphtha (1.6 million tons), liquefied petroleum gas, mixed xylene, and petroleum coke.
