SOCAR cuts fuel consumption by 28%

In 2020, during the coronavirus pandemic, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) reduced fuel and electricity consumption by 28% and 10%, respectively, Report informs, citing the company’s spokesperson Ibrahim Ahmadov.
According to him, last year, the company produced about 26% of the electricity it used in Azerbaijan at the expense of its internal capabilities and received the rest from government institutes.
The SOCAR spokesperson also noted that the growth in energy consumption in 2019 was because several plants and enterprises of the company began their activities in that year.
