Izmir hosting 4th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum

The 4th Azerbaijan-Türkiye Energy Forum is being held in Izmir, Türkiye, Report informs.

An Energy Forum Protocol aimed at developing cooperation in the energy sector will be signed, co-chaired by Azerbaijan's Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov and Türkiye's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar.

Along with the energy ministers of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues is also participating in the forum's opening.

Meetings between delegations from the two countries will also be held as part of the forum.

The Forum will operate through six Working Groups created with the participation of relevant state and private sectors of Türkiye and Azerbaijan. There will be discussions on the activity of working groups on Hydrocarbons and Petrochemicals, Renewable Energy, Electricity Market, Distribution and Transmission, Regulation, Energy Efficiency, and Mining Industry.

A Forum Protocol establishing the basis for various cooperation activities will also be signed.

According to this protocol, the parties will agree to strengthen and maintain cooperation and coordination between global and regional organizations and institutions operating in the energy sector.
