Turkish frigate joins events marking US 250th anniversary

Türkiye's TCG Oruçreis frigate is paying a port visit to Norfolk Naval Base from June 14 to 21 to take part in the FLEETEX-250/2026 exercise, which will be held as part of events marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Report informs that the Turkish National Defense Ministry shared the information on its X account.

"The TCG Oruçreis frigate was welcomed on June 14, 2026, by Fleet Commander Rear Admiral Mehmet Baybars Küçükatay, Turkish Senior National Representative in Norfolk Major General Hayrettin Koca and Naval Attaché in Washington Haluk Orhon," the ministry said.
