Azerbaijan signs new agreements with ACWA Power

Azerbaijan"s State Water Resources Agency and the Saudi company ACWA Power have signed an Agreement on the Design, Construction, Operation, and Maintenance of a Desalination Plant in the Caspian Sea.

According to Report, the document was signed within the framework of the first Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) in Baku.

The agreement was inked by the Chairman of the State Agency, Zaur Mikayilov, and ACWA Power"s CEO, Marco Arcelli.

The agreement covers the stages of design, construction, financing, operation, and maintenance. The project aims to ensure efficient water resource management in the region and to increase the supply of drinking water.

Additionally, a Purified Water Purchase Agreement was signed at the forum by Mikayilov, Chairperson of the United Water Supply Service for Major Cities, Tahir Khalilov, and M. Archelli.

Within the forum, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Chairman of the Board of the Economic Zones Development Agency Seymur Adygozalov, and M. Archelli signed a Land Lease Agreement, while Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev and M. Archelli signed a State Guarantee Agreement.
