Azerbaijan's solar power output climbs 13% in first eight months

Azerbaijan's solar power plants generated 407.9 million kWh of electricity from January to August 2025, a 13% increase compared with the same period last year, according to the State Statistics Committee, quoted by Report.

Overall electricity production in the country reached 18.32 billion kWh in the reporting period, up 1.5% year on year. Of that, 17.71 billion kWh was classified as marketable electricity, representing annual growth of 1.4%.

Hydropower plants accounted for 2.26 billion kWh, a 6.6% rise compared with January–August 2024. Thermal power stations remained the largest source, producing 15.01 billion kWh, a modest increase of 0.4% over the previous year.

By contrast, wind power output fell by 13.5% to 33.4 million kWh during the same period.
