Azerbaijan's revenues from polyethylene exports grow by over 40%

In January 2021, Azerbaijan exported polyethylene in primary forms worth $6.9 million, Report informs, citing the Export Review of the Azerbaijani Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication.
According to the data, this figure is $2.8 million or 40.6% more than in the same month last year.
The SOCAR Polymer project includes plants for the production of polypropylene with an annual capacity of 184,000 tons and high-density polyethylene production with a capacity of 120,000 tons per year.
The polypropylene plant was inaugurated on July 18, 2018, with the participation of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his Italian counterpart Sergio Mattarella. The polypropylene export started on October 5.
