Azerbaijan's methanol output exceeded 86,000 tons in 5 months

In January–May of 2026, Azerbaijan produced 86,500 tons of methanol, marking a 52.9% decline year-on-year, Report informs, referring to the country's State Statistical Committee.
As of June 1, 30,300 tons of final product remained in stock.
Methanol production in Azerbaijan is carried out at the SOCAR Methanol Plant in Baku's Garadagh district. The facility, commissioned in 2013, has been managed since 2016 by SOCAR's subsidiary, SOCAR Methanol LLC, and was formally transferred to the company's ownership in August 2017. With an annual production capacity of 650,000–700,000 tons, the plant uses natural gas and desalinated water as its primary raw materials.
