Azerbaijan's gas output surges by over 4%

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 3.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas in the first half of 2024, representing a 13.6% or 0.6 billion cubic meters drop year-on-year, Report informs, citing the Energy Ministry of Azerbaijan.

In total, 25.1 billion cubic meters of natural gas were produced in Azerbaijan in the initial six months of the current year, showing an increase of 1 million cubic meters and 4.3% from the corresponding period of 2023.

Of that, 6.5 billion cubic meters were produced from the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli (ACG) field block, 14 billion cubic meters from the Shah Deniz field, and 0.8 billion cubic meters from the Absheron field.

Compared to the first half of 2023, gas production from ACG remained the same and at the Shah Deniz it rose by 0.8 billion cubic meters or 6.1%.
