Minister: 'We plan to take Kalbajar Honey Festival to international level'

A honey festival is being held in Azerbaijan's Kalbajar for the first time, with plans to take it to an international level in the future, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov said, Report informs.
He stated that the festival was made possible by the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, who, during a recent visit to Kalbajar, particularly praised the quality of local honey.
"We strive to make the festival a tradition by inviting beekeepers from all regions of the country and promoting Kalbajar honey as a brand. We plan to take this festival to an international level in the future," the minister noted.
He emphasized that the festival will showcase beekeeping products, equipment, and new technologies.
"Thanks to state support, the number of bee colonies in the country has increased 2.5 times in recent years. In the near future, special attention will be paid to the development of beekeeping in Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur, which will improve the living standards of local residents and the quality of organic produce," Mammadov said.
