Nakhchivan's foreign trade turnover rises 20%

In January-May 2026, the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan carried out trade operations with foreign countries worth $58.8 million, Report informs, citing Nakhchivan's State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, this is 20.3% more than in the same period last year.

Exports accounted for $5.9 million of foreign trade turnover, while imports made up $52.9 million. Over the past year, exports increased by 23.3% and imports by 20%.

As a result, a foreign trade deficit of $47 million was recorded - 19.6% more than a year earlier.

In addition, in the first five months of the year, retail trade turnover in the autonomous republic amounted to 616.3 million manats ($362.5 million), up 0.5% year-on-year. Food products, beverages and tobacco products worth 318 million manats ($187.1 million), as well as non-food products worth 298.3 million manats ($175.5 million), were sold through the retail network.
