Azerbaijan reveals data on cargo traffic by railway

In total, 2,871,417 tons of export and import cargo valued at $1,254,328,000 were transported by railway in Azerbaijan in the first five months of 2024, Report informs, citing the State Customs Committee.
This shows a decline of 12.8 percent in volume and 26.1 percent in value compared to the same period of 2023.
In January-May of 2024, a total of 1,090,866 tons of cargo (-26%) worth $354,472,000 (-55.8%) were exported by railway transport.
Also, 1,780,551 tons of cargo (-7.4%), totaling $899,856,000 (-14.3) were imported into the country by railway transport in the specified period.
