Ukraine's General Staff preparing changes to boost defense efficiency

Ukraine's General Staff is preparing a number of systemic changes aimed at improving the effectiveness of the country's defense.

According to Report, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the plans in a post on his Telegram channel.

"The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is preparing a number of systemic changes that will, among other things, allow for a clearer assessment of the situation on the front line, a faster response to changes, and provide brigades with greater opportunities to respond effectively to Russian assault activity," Zelenskyy wrote.

The president also said that Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mykhailo Drapatyi, Chief of the General Staff Ihor Skybiuk, Acting Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara and Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa had briefed him on the frontline situation, Russia's use of ballistic missiles and Ukraine's capabilities to counter those threats.

Following the meeting, the participants identified the necessary decisions, technological steps and asymmetric measures to strengthen the country's defenses.

Zelenskyy also instructed Drapatyi to intensify cooperation with the military leadership of European countries. The teams of Ukraine's Defense Ministry and the Presidential Office will also work with European partners on securing additional missiles for air defense systems.
