Azerbaijan–Hungary business forum held in Budapest

An Azerbaijan–Hungary Business Forum took place today in Budapest with the participation of representatives from the public and private sectors of both countries.

According to Report, the forum was organized within the framework of the 11th meeting of the Azerbaijan–Hungary Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation.

The co-chairs of the commission – Azerbaijan"s Minister of Finance Sahil Babayev and Hungary"s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto – addressed the event.

Babayev noted that the outcomes of the 11th commission meeting defined future areas of cooperation in line with the spirit of friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary.

The minister emphasized that while governments set the framework agreements for cooperation, it is the business community and investors who transform these agreements into concrete projects. According to him, the business forum serves as an important platform for building partnerships, promoting innovation, and accessing new markets.

Sahil Babayev also invited Hungarian companies to invest in Azerbaijan, while highlighting that Azerbaijani companies are likewise eager to explore new opportunities for development in Hungary and within the European Union.

The forum addressed opportunities for expanding bilateral trade, encouraging investment, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, and cooperation in energy, the green economy, food security, and transport.

Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Azerbaijani company Hieronica Limited and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).

The business forum also included B2B meetings and discussions on future cooperation.

More than 90 companies took part in the event, including 30 from Azerbaijan.
