Azerbaijan boosts steel import spending from Türkiye by nearly 48%

In January-April of 2026, Azerbaijan imported 43.067 million worth of steel from Türkiye, marking a 47.8% increase year-on-year (YoY), Report informs, citing Türkiye Exporters Assembly.
In April alone, Türkiye exported $15.457 million worth of steel to Azerbaijan, marking a sharp 131.7% rise compared to the same month last year.
Overall, Türkiye's steel exports in the four‑month period dropped by 1.5% YoY to $5.238 billion, while in April, the exports grew by 10.6% to $1.438 billion.
The largest importers of Turkish steel were Romania ($442.095 million, up 4.9% YoY), Italy ($371.78 million, down 0.5% YoY), and the United Kingdom ($274.539 million, up 73% YoY).
