Death toll from Typhoon Bavi in Philippines rises to 17

The death toll from Typhoon Bavi in the Philippines has climbed to 17, Assistant Secretary of the Civil Defense Office Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV said on the air of Dobol B TV.
He noted that most of the victims were in the municipality of Malapatan in Sarangani province. Several people are still reported missing, with figures being verified.
Nationwide, around 112,000 families have been affected by the disaster. The majority of deaths were caused by landslides triggered by heavy rains.
Approximately 2,900 families have been relocated to shelters.
