Ramin Mammadov meets with Bishop of South Caucasus and Georgian Evangelical Lutheran Church

Ramin Mammadov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Religious Associations, met with Rolf Barais, the Bishop of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Georgia and the South Caucasus, on July 24, Report informs.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the traditions of interfaith harmony, tolerance, and multiculturalism in Azerbaijan.
It was noted that the support provided by the state to religious communities and steps taken to promote mutual respect between confessions play an important role in preserving religious diversity.
It was also mentioned that Azerbaijan's contributions to interfaith dialogue are exemplary. The achievements of the country, which has a successful model of multiculturalism and tolerance, are of interest throughout the world.
During the conversation, satisfaction was expressed with the attention and care shown to all religious confessions in the country, including the Lutheran community.
Lemke Gothard Gunter Walter, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran religious community in Jena, Germany, the Pastor of the Baku religious community of Evangelical Lutheran, and Vera Nesterova, the chairwoman of the Savior Evangelical Lutheran religious community in Baku, also participated in the meeting.
