Russian troops are attacking the Ukrainian territory with Iranian-made drones, Centre for Strategic Communications StratCom Ukraine said on Telegram, Report informs.
"One of them was shot down by the Armed Forces of Ukraine near the recently liberated city of Kupiansk, Kharkiv Oblast," the center noted.
"It can be argued that for the first time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed an Iranian drone that struck near Kupiansk. This is a long-range Shahed-136 kamikaze drone," it said.
The US Treasury Department has imposed sanctions on Iran's Safiran Airport Services for its participation in supplying UAVs to Russia for use in the war in Ukraine.
It was recently reported that Russia ordered about a thousand strike-reconnaissance UAVs from Iran.
