Turkish police officer killed in shotgun attack during response

A senior Turkish police officer was killed in a shotgun attack while responding to a domestic disturbance in the Mihalıççık district of Eskişehir province.
According to TRT Haber, police were dispatched to the Narlı neighborhood after receiving a report of a family dispute.
Chief Police Officer Mehmet Demirbaş arrived at the scene with a police team and was shot while attempting to approach a man who was allegedly threatening his family with a shotgun. Demirbaş was taken to hospital but later died from his injuries.
The attack also injured the neighborhood headman, Mutlu Şahin, and another police officer. The suspect was subsequently neutralized by responding officers.
